I came across a good deal on a turbo but want to make sure it will work before purchasing it. It is a Garrett T04E45. I looked around online and saw it came off of a John Deere tractor motor. Will this work for my application? I have a 2003 Mustang GT with no modifications besides a cold air intake. I know diesel turbos are made to spool at higher RPM's vs gasoline turbos that spool at lower RPM's. Will I be able to even benefit from this install or will it be a waste? Also, since it's not made for performance use will it be able to hold up if I punch it every once in a while? Right now the car is just for street use but will eventually be built for racing. It's a little hard right now since I'm stationed in Okinawa but I figured if I find a good deal out here I can send/bring it home and install it.

Will I benefit at all? Is it worth dropping $400 on?

Just my 2 cents Jimmy but I would really look around for a turbo set up that is made for your car. You might end up with something that will not work or you'll have to buy a lot more items to make it work properly. Let us know how it turns out.

I'm gonna hold off until I find something better suited or just the s/c route. Right now I'm finding myself more and more partial to the fox body, especially because it seems to be a lot cheaper to mod those motors lol. Thanks for the tip and I'm definitely following it.
