This is for all you SVO maniacs out there. This is cool of Ford to come out with this for the SVO owners. Since the formation of the Ford Performance Group, the company sponsored program has been connecting up with clubs, enthusiasts, and owners in many ways. Providing support and information to clubs has helped the enthusiast gain an avenue with the company. The interaction has also provided the company with a direct connection to the vibe and thoughts of owners too.
In so doing Ford has been hearing a lot from Ford fans, enthusiasts and owners of their cars. Just as importantly, they have been listening and reacting. One of the things people who own special edition Mustangs have been asking for is some kind of documentation from Ford they can have to accompany their cars. If you have a highly collectible car or one you have restored, having factory documentation is a really nice extra not only for posterity, but to provide at displays or when selling the car.
This week Ford Performance Group has announced a new initiative in this area, launching a new Certificate of Authenticity program for the 1984-86 Mustang SVO. The program which is being done in conjunction with the Mustang SVO Owners Association gives SVO owners the opportunity to obtain a package of specific documentation for their car.
SVO owners can now contact the Ford Performance Info Center either by phone (1-800-FORD-788) or online to order the SVO Certificate Package, which includes a Welcome Letter, Official Ford Certificate of Authenticity (with Edsel Ford II signature), owner-specific VIN build data, plus a Production Data Sheet.
All you need is your car’s VIN and a valid credit card. Cost is $40, but members of clubs in the Ford Performance Group of enthusiast organizations get a 15% discount on certificates and other items.
